On April? ?15, President awards ceremony was held to recognize students who have made significant achievements in extracurricular and social activities in the September 2024 and March 2025? ?? President awards.
In the September 2024 term, Hiroaki Kunii, a 4th-year student from College of Science and Engineering, School of Biological Science and Technology and Shunta Ebisawa, a 3rd-year student from College of Human and Social Sciences, School of Economics, both members of the Shogi Club, received awards in the Arts and Sports Division.
Kunii won the 80th Student Meijin Tournament (sponsored by All Japan Student Shogi Association) and was awarded the title of Student Meijin.
Ebisawa won the First Logic Cup 38th National All-Student Shogi Championship (sponsored by Japan Shogi Association) in the individual tournament.
In the March 2025 term, Sogo Homura, a 3rd-year student from College of Science and Engineering, School of Mechanical Engineering, received an award in the social activities division for his life-saving activities at an automobile accident, for which he received a firefighting cooperator award from the Kanazawa City Fire Department.
The awarded students were presented with award plaques and fountain pens by Trustee Akiharu Morimoto on behalf of President Takashi Wada.
