Kanazawa University Contest: 8th Chozen Literature Award Ceremony

On October 18, the 8th Kanazawa University Contest Chozen Literature Award Ceremony was held at a hotel in Kanazawa City.

At the award ceremony, President Takashi Wada presented certificates and prizes to the winners of the Grand Prize and Excellence Award. Additionally, former Chozen Literature Award winners who later enrolled at the university, including Wakano Tani, a first-year student in the College of Transdisciplinary Sciences for Innovation School of Entrepreneurial and Innovation Studies, Towa Konno, a first-year student in the College of Human and Social Sciences School of Humanities, and Yuki Ohno, a second-year student in the School of Humanities, along with Mie Watanabe, a third-year student in the same school, were presented with commemorative plaques.

After the awards ceremony, a round-table discussion was held, where the award winners enthusiastically exchanged their thoughts on their creative activities with novelist Ran Satomi, a member of the external jury, and other current students.

The Chozen Literature Award is one of the contests for high school students hosted by Kanazawa University, with categories for both the novel and tanka (Japanese poetry) divisions. Winners are granted the eligibility to apply for the university’s "Chozen Special Entrance Examination (Chozen Literature Selection)."
