On October 16th, a kick-off event for the MIRAICHI Research Center Co-Creation Planning Office was held at MIRAICHI Research Center, Kanazawa University, with approximately 50 people in attendance.

MIRAICHI Research Center Co-Creation Planning Office began its activities in April 2025 as a framework for promoting research and development that reflects societal needs. It welcomes corporate employees and municipal staff as visiting researchers, who engage in regular and ongoing interaction with university researchers under the guidance of University Research Administrators (URAs).

At the kick-off event, Director Hiroshi Hasegawa of MIRAICHI Research Center gave the opening address, and Assistant Professor Sato Hajime explained ELSI's (*) initiatives and the Co-Creation Planning Office's activity themes. Afterwards, participating institutions gave presentations on their respective activities and expectations for the Co-Creation Planning Office. After the event, a facility tour and a social gathering were held, allowing visiting researchers to interact with each other.

MIRAICHI Research Center Co-Creation Planning Office will share challenges with participating organizations and work together to find solutions in a variety of fields, including healthcare and welfare, tourism, and promoting carbon neutrality, as a new co-creation model that utilizes the perspective of ELSI.
